Welcome to Breakthrough

Breakthrough Foundation has a key focus of assisting HIV/AIDS infected and affected families in Kenya. We have targeted a neglected rural area of Thika District at Juja Farm sub location. Juja Farm is a semi arid area whose rainfall is insufficient to meet the subsistence farming lifestyle of the community. As well as helping those directly affected with HIV/AIDS, we help the whole community to gain economic independence and educational advancement.

"Dear Respected Visitor,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Breakthrough Foundation website and to introduce you to our vision, mission and goals. Our vision is to see improvement in the lives of the poor, and bring dignity to their existence. People all over the world have one question, “How can we change the world?” The answer to this question is
simple, "Be the change you want to see in the world."(Mahatma Gandhi)

Our mission is to help alleviate poverty and prejudice by providing practical services to the poor and those suffering with HIV/Aids in Kenya and Wales, particularly with women and children.

Economically

Our strategies are:
To provide education to affected children by providing a Flexible Community Centre.

Eradicate stigma associated with HIV/Aids through counselling, integration and social provision.

Provide homes for orphans, in either extended families or in purpose built accommodation.

Provide vocational training for the youth.

Create economic opportunities for those in need by identifying income generating activities, in order to empower
them economically.
Provision of adult literacy training courses
.

Try to Bring about social equality, fairness, and dignity of life, especially for women and deprived communities. Our work in Kenya is becoming increasingly evident in the Juja Farm Village where we have seen a big impact through giving the destitute children the opportunity of an education. Juja Farm Village is a semi-arid area coupled with persistent drought and high rate of HIV/ Aids. The high prevalence of HIV/Aids has left many destitute children of weak single parents with high levels of illiteracy without the capacity to provide education for their children. BKF will constantly seek to find ways to put a full stop to the vicious poverty cycle that is prevailing. We want to enable children and parents who are disadvantaged through the effects of poverty to lead a fulfilled and independent life.

On behalf of myself, BKF Trustees and our beneficiaries, I would like to thank everyone that has played a part in helping us to achieve so much and in particular our team of volunteers, supporters and staff for their continued trust and support.

Kind Regards

Esther Kamau, Chair Of Trustees"
